Ive been hiding my face behind the grindstone lately, building and painting some giant aluminum composite panels for the annual summer show @gallerypoulsen! The lineup this year is absolutely crazy. Besides your favorite Poulsen artists, theres some awesome new artists Im really excited to show alongside like @bernardosiciliano, @monicacookstudio, and @colin.chillag. Here’s some shots of the under drawings, that Ill later coat in acrylic matte medium to save as I paint over top. At this scale I dont worry as much about an accurate and pretty underdrawing because I know Im going to be correcting proportions and shapes as I go. If it were a more delicate small scale piece I might try to keep things nice, so I have a really clear idea of where the paint needs to go. Cant wait to show you the finished piece and all the details!

Whats on my easel this wednesday… in progress for the next solo, just a little over a month away! Reimagining an old image, but in paint this time. After working through this I wish I had done it much larger, so it might not be the last time I visit this one. #wip #wipwednesday

A little #fbf action today while I keep my head down and grind out some more paintings. This was from the last solo with @gallerypoulsen, and Im gearing up for our next one! More info to come soon on that.

Just a few days left to see “Meet Me at Delancey / Essex” at @spoke_art! Theres some amazing work, so if you’re around the Lower East this weekend be sure to stop in. Tomorrow night! Come out to @spoke_art on the Lower East, 6 to 8, for the opening of a group show. There’s going to be some great work from a lot of NY based artists. I’m really looking forward to seeing the @marsproject, @loganhicksny, and new @swoonhq works. Hope to see you there!
